With no further ado, here’s the next song of mine from Homegrown Music Cafe. It’s called, “No More Tears”. Leave a comment here: Jennifer Vazquez Fan Page.

Blog #58: Opening for The Rochester Razorsharks

From The Blog Series… 365 Blogs To Finding Pinocchio A Home So, this past weekend “Stilettos-n-Steel” had quite an adventure. We had the pleasure of opening for The Rochester Razorsharks and followed that with a fun coffee house gig at Boulder Coffee Company – Park Ave. The adventure began in Queens, continued in The Bronx and then went all the way up to Rochester. The most outrageous thing about the 7 hour drive there and back? Well, it had to do with the weather…. where the heck did it all come from? I don’t know! We started out fine and then a few hours into the drive, the rain started. That was ok, but then it was followed by a heavy snow storm which transformed the snow into sleet and then hail. We were driving on the highway ALONE for a great part of the time and the roads were not snow plowed at all. Let’s just say we found ourselves in, oh, a bit of a pickle. We did eventually arrive in Rochester around 2:30 in the morning! On the way back home, we thought we were in the clear, but it ended up being even worse! Oh, the things we do for[…]

From The Blog Series… 365 Blogs To Finding Pinocchio A Home “Stilettos-n-Steel” Writing Sessions in Rome, NY h, was it cold! Like 15 degrees below zero cold. Like the pipes froze and we had no water for a day cold! And thank God it did ‘cause we were forced to venture out of the cabin and into town and found the most cozy and hip coffee house / eatory / music venue ever: Kikko’s Koffee House. A huge thank you to Tom, the owner, for making our experience one we will never forget!

Blog #52: What’s on Your Christmas List?

From The Blog Series… 365 Blogs To Finding Pinocchio A Home What’s on Your Christmas List?  How about “A Very Jenny Christmas” to get you ready for the Holiday Season? What do you get? Well, you get 10 of my favorite Christmas songs, plus one of my own, “Holiday Cheer” (Let’s Take Care Of Each Other). I got the idea of recording this album after spending the Holiday Season street performing around Manhattan singing my favorite Christmas songs. A friend suggested how great it would be for me to record a Christmas Album. While at first I was hesitant to do it, I followed my gut and took the journey! And so…  “A Very Jenny Christmas” was born! Blog #48: Songwriting Tips from NSAI’s Guest, Jon Vezner

From The Blog Series… 365 Blogs To Finding Pinocchio A Home Last night I had the pleasure of attending an inspiring NSAI event with my songwriting partner, Jason Waters, at Five Towns College with Grammy Award Winning Songwriter, Jon Vezner , as the Guest Speaker.   Jason Waters, Jon Vezner & Jennifer Vazquez  What a pure joy it was to listen to Jon’s well constructed and heartfelt tunes. There is nothing that gets me higher than experiencing a GREAT songwriter, up, close and personal. And, sitting in on that Master Class provided both Jason and myself with key reminders for what tools and rules allow for the creation of a GREAT SONG! (Be sure to check out Jon Vezner when you get a chance. He is not only a great songwriter, artist and musician, but a solid person all around. And while you’re at it, check out his musical partner Jeff Gilkinson! Wow, what a player and songwriter!) Here’s some reminders for ALL you songwriters out there:  ~ TO BE EFFECTIVE as a songwriter, CREATE TENSION in the song, either in the Melody, the Tempo or the Lyric.  ~ EVERY LINE of your song must act as an ACCELERATER for the next one.  ~ SHOW IT! DON’T TELL IT! ~ BE SIMPLE:[…]
