Journal #63: Day Twenty One… If The Shoe Doesn’t Fit, Try Another Size!

Join the journey with me… Jen’s 2015 Musical Vision Quest RocketHub Campaign!

Well, today is day 21 of my musical vision quest. You know, I was thinking about the past projects that have led me to this very one today. And as I venture back to my very first album, it’s pretty incredible to see the progress from project to project. All the years it’s taken to hone my craft, to learn the business, to go through the process, over and over again, so that each time a new project has been created, that final project would be end up better than the last. Years of trial and error. And it’s pretty awesome, the experience one can get from allowing failure to lead to success.

And through the years, that’s been my experience with all my music projects. Each time I chose to produce another album, single or EP, it just gotten better and better. The lyrics stronger, the production and arrangements clearer and cleaner; the process itself enjoyable rather than dreadful. Yes, I have learned to work smarter, not harder, every step of the way.

And now, to date, I have four full length albums: “Bend”, “A Very Jenny Christmas”, “Silenced” and “Another Day In The Dark”. I’ve put out three singles: “Getting Out Of My Own Way”, “I Wanna Be Pinocchio” and “Lone Pine”.  And, I have one EP to my name, “Just Me And My Taylor”.

Life, indeed, is all about the process. And while once I was in a rush to get to that finish line, thinking that was the success of it all, that that would provide true happiness, that that was the answer; now, that’s simply not so!

Now? Now I get to enjoy the process. And I continue to learn all I can, while applying all the skill sets I’ve accumulated over the years to this upcoming vision. That’s pretty exciting and definitely inspiring to me as a songwriter. Oh, I am ready! Actually, I am beyond ready. And as this next musical adventure arrives, I know that this next album will be the best to date!

Ahhh… Yes, that makes me smile… And it makes me smile even more to embrace the idea that this will all happen because of you, because of your belief in me as an artist, as a songwriter, as a business woman. Yes, your partnership allows me to produce this next incredibly exciting album.

Thank you so much… Thank you so very much!

xoxo

More to come…
