From The Blog Series… 365 Blogs To Finding Pinocchio A Home
So, I just wanted to tell you more about another project Pinocchio is on. As you know, I released “I Wanna Be Pinocchio” on July 4th and it’s been an interesting turnout thus far. I want to tap into this for a moment. Music has become this product that people consider “FREE”. As an artist, I am giving songs away monthly because I want people to listen and join me on this journey. But the truth is, without a team, a pretty solid team, behind me, it’s pretty darn challenging to make money just as an artist. I actually spent a few months searching for an intern and finally found the perfect match in June. I am very grateful to have her on board. Things are moving along very nicely since she started!
So, anyway, I am not upset about my not having a big team behind me. Instead, I am using what I have and making it work, one step at a time. I am getting more and more motivated to finding each open door that’s leading me towards becoming a full time songwriter and musician and less and less concerned about who is and isn’t buying my new songs right now. Don’t get me wrong, if you buy my songs, I get to make money from my music, right now, rather than having to work my “B” job as cater waiter and bartender, but I have no complaints. I do what I must! Basically the goal is to write songs, put out new music and to collaborate with professionals in the industry, so I am able to consistently be a paid songwriter in some way. Whether it be having my songs in films, on commercials or on TV or whether it be having another artist want me to write a song for them or use one I already have that they dig, to me, it all adds up to one thing… A BIG SMILE. It means I am doing what I love day in and day out and getting paid abundantly for it. So, I am determined to keep focused on the bigger picture as I walk through each open door that presents itself to me to find where the money will come from surrounding my craft as a songwriter.
Here’s the thing. At the beginning stages of life, is pretty much about getting to the finish line. Then, life’s about worrying about who is better and bigger and more successful than you. And then, at some point it’s about TRUTH, LOVE & CONTRIBUTION. And that, that is where real abundance gets to come in. It is when what you do, can be taken in by those around you that need the service you provide to help them out. It’s a give and take. In this, a community of like minded people find each other by just doing what they do and doing it authentically and humbly as they see that the main purpose in life becomes about being a contributor, not to taker.
Speaking of communities and contributing to them, on July 20th I was able to contribute “Don’t Wanna Be Pinocchio” to a project called “Live Through Music”. It was back in April that I was asked to jump on board this album. I listened to the other artists involved and that was that! Ellison Sarbeng is the muscle behind this project. I applaud him for all his hard work and dedication over the past few years to make this project come to life!
You know, we all have our Ups and Downs every single day! And I know that for me, living through music gives me the balance I need throughout my day to keep on keeping, to remain grounded and to remember that life is a marathon, not a sprint. It reminds me to take my time, to give my body time to breathe in the journey, so I can breathe out the answers with ease and calm and without an ounce of hesitation! So, here’s to lots of sunny days, as well as stormy weather that lie ahead.
And with no further ado, I share with you a little bit more about “LIVE THROUGH MUSIC”.
THE VISION: The Live Through Music Album is a vision of BLACK “E” and Vicariously Victorious Music. Their vision is to create a community of Artists who collaborate, champion, and support each other regardless of their genre and current endeavors.

So to end this blog I leave you with these words… As an artist, I keep on going because I live through music. It’s what flows out of me and what allows me to stay serene and sane. Music gets me through each and every day of my life. So, to stop making music is like asking me to stop breathing. So here’s to all of you who are just being you and doing what were meant to do. Here’s to all of you who have “made it” for today and to those who will “make it” some day soon. And what, you may ask, is making it? Well, to me, it’s accepting the gift you have been given as a true gem, and being able to share that very gift, every day of your life, with others. “Making it” means knowing what your vision is, and living through it…. For me… I Live Through Music!
Yes Pinocchio, we are indeed one step closer to finding you a home!
