In mid January, I had an opportunity to share my voice and music to support a fellow Nashville musician, Josh Rowe, who’d been shot point blank in the head as he was driving Uber on New Year’s Eve. He miraculous survived and is slowly recovering.

The owner of The Bowery Vault (Vero) and Kristen Ford (Kick-ass Musician), who are also dear friends of mine, put together a virtual concert to raise money for Josh’s recovery and medical bills. While others sent in their videos, Kristen suggested I just come on down to The Bowery Vault and play a few songs live. It was such a treat to perform on a stage again, with Vero and Kristen as my audience. That’s what’s great about the community here in East Nashville. We are each other’s family in many ways.

“Gold” is a song I wrote inspired by my own insanity of doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. I finally accepted that for my life to change, I had to change the way I was doing things. I had to change my thoughts, my words and my actions.
