Blog #29: My Tunes on “You Can’t Make It Up”

From The Blog Series… 365 Blogs To Finding Pinocchio A Home   Happy Tuesday! I hope January is going well for you all out there. I have been quite busy the past few weeks creating this year’s business plan and I am excited about what I have begun to put together. Yes, a lot of work is involved and I have made a promise that this year I am asking for all the help I can get, rather than do it alone. It definitely makes it more enjoyable, and well, it gets things done a lot quicker! So, as I continue working on the plan, let me share the latest with you. Two of my songs (shown below) were on a comedy radio show yesterday called, “You Can’t Make It Up”. They are a big supporters of a good cause, Voices United for Veterans. Check out the show below and listen to them… kind of making fun of me with “I Wanna Be Pinocchio”. But, I can take it. Hey, it’s a comedy show…   “I Wannna Be Pinocchio” (The new single) Song plays at 3 min 45 sec  “Running Out Of Time” (From “bend”) Song plays at 21 min 35 sec[…]

Blog #28: The Perfect Snowfall

From The Blog Series… 365 Blogs To Finding Pinocchio A Home   I was going through my past photo albums the other day and came across this picture I took up at Mohonk Mountain House back in 1993. The day was as calm and quiet as snow falling. As I walked out of Mohonk Mountain House in the early morning, to see how much snow had fallen the night before, I was blessed with this visual. I hurried to capture this most serene picture of  The Perfect Snowfall. It was not planned, it just happened. I did not question it’s beauty. Instead, I quickly rushed back into my room to grab my camera and quickly returned to the front porch to find nature’s beauty untampered with and snapped the shot!  And this is how I plan on moving forward in 2013. As the journey continues of finding Pinocchio a home, I make a promise to simply live my life, take my chances at doing what I love and not question how or why, but rather just step into abundance naturally, as it comes, taking pictures to capture the tiny little miracles that cross my path as I venture into unknown territory[…]

Blog #27: Let’s Take Care Of Each Other

From The Blog Series… 365 Blogs To Finding Pinocchio A Home   I believe that what makes me thrive and live a full and abundant life is my ability to give and be a contribution to others without expecting anything in return. Since the Holiday Season is now here and ‘Tis The Season to do just that; to give a part of myself to all those around, I thought it would be fun to share this unedited acapello recording of me in the studio while I was making my album, “A Very Jenny Christmas”. The song is called, “Holiday Cheer” (Let’s Take Care Of Each Other) and it’s an original song that I wrote while in LA many years ago. It was one of those songs that came to me very quickly. It was one of those gifts that my “Higher Power” gives me every now and then to thank me for just being me! Those are pretty awesome moments and I am learning the less I stress and the more I just be me, life flows pretty smoothly! Hoping you enjoy the video. I did not edit it so you could experience exactly what goes on during the[…]

Blog #26: The Rewrite/Getting Out Of My Own Way

From The Blog Series… 365 Blogs To Finding Pinocchio A Home   So, I have this song that I rewrote in a songwriting class that I took in May 2012. The song is called,“Getting Out Of My Own Way”.  I wrote it out of pure frustration and fear. I wrote it to try to figure out why I wasn’t where I thought I should be in my life. I wrote it to find out why the hell I wasn’t able to find my prince charming. Well, as I rewrote the song a few months ago, the answers finally all came together pretty quickly. I knew what to do next; get out of my own way and let life start taking me where it wants me to go. Check it out below. If you would like to read the lyrics and some more on this topic just click here: Getting Out Of My Own Way Yup! I’m one step closer to finding Pinocchio a home. Can you say…. “Patience”!

Blog # 25: “How’s Sandy Treating You?”

From The Blog Series… 365 Blogs To Finding Pinocchio A Home   Back in the day, people lived like so many of us have been living over these past 6 days, as Hurricane Sandy stormed in and rushed out. We have been left in a bit of a mess, to say the least. I have a new found respect for people who lived way back when without many of the things we have now. I have never thought about not having electricity each day to light my home, not being able to communicate through my computer and cell phone, nor have I blinked on the thought of not being able to to keep my food refrigerated. What about gas to heat my home and cook my food? And let’s not forget the many sources of transportation, like subways and buses, to get me to where I need to go every single day! Wow, people back then just accepted what they had because that is all they knew. They did not realize how easy life could be because they hadn’t gotten a taste of all the abundance that was to come. But you and I have gotten a lot of[…]

Blog # 24: “The Hedgehog and The Fox”

From The Blog Series… 365 Blogs To Finding Pinocchio A Home   Do you have a passion? Do you dream about what it would be like to be that amazing person you truly are, not only behind closed doors, but in front of everyone you encounter? What happens when our dreams and goals get sidetracked by FEAR? Well, I have been reading a powerful book called “Good To Great” by Jim Collins and I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a great passion for something they truly believe in. “Good To Great” speaks about many obstacles that stop people from going from being good to truly being great! I am gonna focus on one topic that Jim speaks of in chapter 5 which really hit home for me entitled, “The Hedgehog Concept”. So basically there is a famous essay called “The Hedgehog and the Fox” and the story goes that while the fox knows many things, the hedgehog knows one big thing. The fox tries every possible angle to catch the hedgehog, but every single time, the hedgehog comes out alive because it simply rolls up into a “perfect little ball” becoming a “sphere of sharp spikes, pointing outward in all[…]
