A father’s love can be expressed in many ways over the years. It could be through his comedic ways in making you laugh as a child when something’s gone wrong. It could be in his skills as a pastry chef, as you walk through the door after school and smell a yummy treat waiting for you, like those vanilla bundt cakes I remember, oh so well. It could be his being there for you, leaving the NYPD immediately, when the school calls to inform you that your child’s just gotten hurt while playing freeze tag at recess in the schoolyard. It could be in the hugs he gives you when you haven’t seen him in so many years or in the laughter you find in all the craziness in both of your present adult lives.
And it’s funny, nomatter what’s happened over the span of, oh so many years, when you take the time to sit by your father’s side, needing not say a word, there’s something calming in that experience that makes you feel safe, like there’s not a care in the world for a few moments in time. I still can’t explain it, but I can say that there’s just something special and unique about a Father’s Love. No matter how much or how little. It’s a special bond that flourishes over the years, as long as we, the children, are willing to blossom it every day…
So today, whether you’re a Dad still here with us or you’ve passed into the next world, blessing us from the heavenly skies above each and every day, I wish each of you the most calming, loving and beautiful Father’s Day ahead!
I would love you all to share a photo of your Dad that holds a special place in your heart! I’ll start. I just found this not too long ago… This is my Dad way back when!
Love you Dad!
You’re still as Handsome, Charismatic and
Yes, as cooky, as you were way back when I was a little girl…
More to come…
