Journal #66: Day Twenty Four… All About The Journey

Hmmm… Let’s travel back in time. The year, 2003! I had produced my very first debut album, “Another Day In The Dark” a year prior. Then, as I’d mentioned in past posts, I ended up in LA street performing on Third Street Promenade to hone my craft and make a name for myself.

Why do I wanna chat about this now? Well, cause I was thinking back to the video I did for a song off that album, “I’m No Saint”. It also ended up on my latest full length studio album “Bend”. Why?

As a songwriter, there are many songs I’ve written that have ended up in the trash. They simply didn’t meet the standards. However, there are other tunes, like “I’m No Saint”, that just worked right from the start! People took to it which meant I’d continue to perform it at my shows for many years after. Not surprisingly, it’s morphed in many ways. I find it still to be one of the most fun songs to play live!
