Journal #58: Day Sixteen… A Delightful Little Distraction

Isn’t it interesting how The Universe throws you things at the right times in your life, only you don’t know it’s being thrown at you until it’s literally staring you in the face? Like this delighful little bundle of distraction I was hit with early this week. It’s my brother’s doggie and I’m babysitting him for the month. Thank God for hypoallergenic dog breeds or else I wouldn’t have been able to do this.

Now, I was a bit hesitant before little Oscar arrived. But once that little rascal came through the door Monday, late afternoon, I’m not gonna lie, he grabbed my heart! And this morning, at 6:30am, he joined me on my bed and wouldn’t leave me alone. So, we took a little walk around the neighborhood, to get him aquainted with it. Oh, he was dragging me every which way, all excited yet nervous about this new turf he’d been thrown into. We got back in and I allowed myself to actually sleep in. I realized I was tired, that I needed some downtime!

Oscar gave me permission to relax, to smell the roses outside and he reminded me, once again, that when all is said and done, no matter how much work we put on our plates, and how many visions want to bring into fruition, the most important factor of having it all in life is taking time out for yourself and taking a moment to love another, to appreciate them, to find the calm in it all.

So today, on day 16 of my musical vision quest RocketHub jounrney, I am very grateful for this delightful little distraction called, Oscar!
